Played two years with the Guelph Storm in the OHL, winning the OHL Championship in the 2013-14 season. 

Played from 2015-2021 in the Swiss League, ranging from Swiss-A with Zurich SC and the GCK Lions in the Swiss B and Swiss-SW league. 

Signed a 1-year ELC with the Chicago Blackhawks on July 16, 2020, but was loaned back to the GCK Lions during the COVID-19 Pandemic. 

Suter proceeded to make his NHL Debut on the 13th of January 2021 against Tampa Bay. He scored his first career goal as well as first career hat trick on the 24th of January 2021 against the Detroit Red Wings. 

Signed a two-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings where he recorded 36 points (15-21-36) in his first season with the club. 

Signed a two-year, $1.6 million AAV contract with the Vancouver Canucks on August 11, 2023.
